Mission Statement

Hey! Welcome to Lauryn Evelyn, a compilation of my ideas, inspirations, ups and downs, personality traits, likes and dislikes, opinions, spirituality -- basically my life.

Lauryn Evelyn is an artistic, pro-feminist, third-eye opening, pro-black power blog that is written by the one and only Lauryn Newton who is awkward and barely has any friends (but she's okay with that!).

So, here's the mission statement:

1. ärt: the expression or application of human creative skill and imagination, typically in a visual form such as painting or sculpture, producing works to be appreciated primarily for their beauty or emotional power.

Look around you. Everywhere you look, there is art. The device you are on right now is art. It took an idea, it took a design, and it took hard work to make this product: and that's art! Whoever thought of it had to apply their creativity to make such a thing. And this goes for anything!

Art has a big impact on my life, and there will be lots of it on this blog! From my art to my inspirations.

2. Becoming a feminist activist is a process that I have not gone through yet. I am an aspiring feminist. I believe fully in women's rights and that women should be treated just as equally as men. I also know that the rest of the world does not agree with this.

In the new movie Joy, Jennifer Lawrence fights for what she has worked so hard for and does whatever she needs to do to protect it, and that really inspired me to stand up for my rights as a woman and become about of the feminist movement. I feel that it's great. No woman should have to lower herself because someone says she can't do something a man can do or can't be successful as a man.

In this blog, I will be posting about feminism and my opinions about women in society.

3. What does it mean to have black power? A lot of Americans misinterpret these words into meaning something different. Some people believe that "black power" means to cancel out all white people in society and completely segregating them out.

However, it means something different.

Whether you think it's true or not, white people have dominant power in society. "Black power" is a simple idea that African-Americans could higher themselves and gain more dominance in American Society.

I will try to mention as much about black issues and achievements as I can in this blog because I feel, as an African-American, this is important to everyone who believes in #blacklivesmatter.

4. Studying New Age topics, learning about your frequency, exploring the colors of your auras, meditating: these are all things that you should incorporate in your everyday life! These are all things that will benefit you, mentally, physically, and spiritually, in the long run. Trust me!

I will be posting a wholeeeee bunch about spirituality!

And this concludes the mission statement! Hopefully I can stick to what I say, and hopefully this blog works out! I really look forward to posting and hearing opinions from everyone!

And, remember, this is a positive blog! Only bring positive vibes.

Peace, love, and happiness!
